Someone once told me the Tokyo Ghoul anime sucked and she ended up loving the manga, but I don't think she ever said it was a GOOD manga, she just really liked Kaneki and wanted him to be happy. I've seen something like this happening more than twice, actually. Maybe it's common for Tokyo Ghoul fans to latch onto something very specific to say they like it (esp. Kaneki) without defending its narrative structure or story because they know it's not properly fleshed out? The worldbuilding looks cool on the surface but it seems there's no much depth to it. It has a strong aura, as the kids say (?) and it smells like coffee for arbitrary reasons! The pacing in the anime (S1) was so horrible. It felt like I was watching an extremely abridged version. So it didn't really give me the chance to become invested in the characters. Some scenes kinda had an invisible "HE IS SUFFERING, THIS IS SAD, FEEL SAD" sign but I didn't feel anything. I actually enjoy watching and reading bad anime and manga, but Tokyo Ghoul doesn't have the soul of a truly bad story imo, so it was just disappointing. Did you like Kaneki and his (sad) story in the manga, at least?

I didn't know that Yoshitaka Amano exhibitions were a thing. I used to randomly see his artwork on Tumblr too, even more than 10 years ago... I even used to have a theme with his chibi designs for FFVI characters. Such a unique artstyle.

Your website is sooo cute!! I haven't played dramatical murder yet but i love the layout!!

Now we are at least TWO people who liked strange Fake. But I have concerns related to the pacing as well. There are too many characters, and it took a long time to adapt this season, so how many more seasons are they going to make? When will it end? There won't be enough time for all these characters. I also wonder how much you care about the worldbuilding/magic rules of the Nasuverse. There were scenes I couldn't fully understand until I read the explanation somewhere else, and it seems it was because the adaptation was not explaining all the details that the light novels did. It was one of the reasons I couldn't enjoy ufotable's UBW (but that was a much worse experience for me because the VN was even designed to be fully read to deeply understand what's going on).
